A few podcast recommendations for learning about solo play and enjoying the exploits of other games.
There is a twin of this - Solo Actual Play Podcasts.

Solo Adventure Story and Other Podcasts
For a better understanding of how solo rpgs (or particular games) are played, try Solo Actual Play Podcasts.
Tale of the Manticore has pioneered a new type of podcast, combining solo gaming with other story elements for a narrative experience which I'm referring to as Solo Adventure Story Podcasts! These differ from more "gamey" actual plays to be more about entertainment and the story narrative. Along with tight editing, voice acting and backstory scenes.
There are also a few other solo podcasts / youtube links here that aren't actual plays.
Legend of the Bones
Legend of the Bones is a recent entry to solo actual plays. In season 1 Simon uses Basic D&D to tell a dark fantasy story with a Viking feel.
It's got tight editing, guest actors, nasty villains, a tense feel and a gripping narrative. Bad things do happen to some of the player characters.
I did an Interview with Simon here on Rand Roll.
Tale of the Manticore
One of most popular solo podcasts, Jon combined solo gaming with an engaging storyline, decent voice-acting, dark fantasy and character moments to make something unique. Plus the drama of the dice sometimes adding in twists and tragedies.
It uses Basic D&D, with Season 1 following a fairly standard adventuring, group, Season 2 has a band of thieves, and season 3 has just begun (as of writing).
Die Alone: A Solo RPG Podcast
A little different to the others, each episode covers a different Solo Game, starting with Long Haul and the Wretched, onto Delve, Four against Darkness and Apawthecaria.
The episodes are relatively short and a good way to find out about a few different games if you'd like to expand your solo rpg horizons.
Find out more about Die Alone. Or search in Player of Choice.
Geek Gamers with Deborah
Geek Gamers cover all kind of Solo Gaming topics on YouTube.
Lonely TTRPG
Lonely TTRPG podcast looks at a different solo game each episodes, and does a playthrough of it too. A great way of finding out new solo games.
Other Podcasts
- And Honourable Mentions to the Magpies (for making sense in Blades in the Dark) and 3d6 Down the Line (for introducing to Dolmenwood and showing what OSR can look like)
Finishing Up
I'll be back periodically to update descriptions and add some more podcasts. And expand out a couple of entries!
