"Often the generators I like the most are the least popular, and the ones I've given up on and just thrown up because I don't want to work on them anymore go on to be the most popular."

This time we are with Kassoon of Rogue Legend 2

Q&A with with Kassoon of Rogue Legend 2

How did you get into creating random generators?

I was DMing and would panic any time the players did something unexpected.

So basically a constant ongoing panic.

What generators are you most proud of creating and why?

Everyone likes the town generator, but I like my dice roller (it can do more than you think) and NPC generator (particularly the descriptions and histories).

I'm also really proud of the 5e character sheet because it's a super modular form handler but that's not something users would care about.

What is the most fun thing about creating generators?

It's easy and relaxing. My programmer job is difficult and frustrating. Making a new generator is pretty much the opposite.

What are the most painful lessons you've learnt from creating generators?

Often the generators I like the most are the least popular, and the ones I've given up on and just thrown up because I don't want to work on them anymore go on to be the most popular.

How do you use generators yourself?

For as much as humanly possible.

Maybe if I make enough generators I won't have to DM anymore and can just play in the perfect campaign.

What are your next big projects (generators or otherwise) that you can talk about?

I've been really disappointed by how DMs and generators make and implement traps.

Where can people find you on social media?

Twitter is @HelpIMadeAGame but you should follow the RSS feed at https://www.kassoon.com/site/rss.xml because RSS is cool and underappreciated.
